Vietnamese language class opens in German city
On May 27, the Vietnam-Germany Association in the Schwaben region of Germany opened a Vietnamese language class in Augsburg city for young individuals from Vietnamese and Vietnamese-German families. The event was attended by representatives from the Vietnamese Consulate General in Frankfurt am Main and city council member Gregor Lang.
In her address at the ceremony, Le Thanh Huong, President of the Vietnam-Germany Association in Schwaben, emphasized the importance of teaching the mother tongue to Vietnamese children born and raised in Germany. She highlighted the association’s efforts to preserve traditional culture, noting that alongside Vietnamese language classes, the association has organized numerous cultural events and gatherings to provide young people with more opportunities to use their mother tongue.
Luu Xuan Dong, the Vietnamese Consul General in Frankfurt am Main, stated that the consulate general plans to collaborate with German local administrations to introduce Vietnamese language teaching in public schools.
