Vietnam and Laos Inspectorates Strengthen Cooperation

On June 3, Inspector General of the Government Inspectorate, Doan Hong Phong, met with Khamphan Phommathat, President of the Lao State Inspection Authority, in Hanoi. The Vietnamese official highlighted that Phommathat’s visit exemplifies the strong cooperation and friendship between the two inspectorate agencies in recent years. It also provides a valuable opportunity to implement the memorandum of understanding (MoU) on cooperation signed in 2022, allowing both sides to discuss and exchange experiences and best practices in inspection management, citizen reception, and resolving complaints and denunciations.

Phong expressed confidence that the ongoing effective cooperation and friendship between the two agencies will further strengthen the great friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos. Phommathat echoed this sentiment, emphasizing that the talks are crucial for implementing the MoU’s contents.

During the meeting, both sides reviewed the socio-economic situation in their respective countries and shared significant results and experiences in inspection management, citizen reception, complaint and denunciation resolution, and anti-corruption efforts. They also discussed future orientations and tasks and exchanged relevant experiences.
